The lecture “Immediate Loading of Implant,” by Dr. Hajime Igarashi, waspart of the 35th annual USC Periodontal and Implant Symposium (theme: “The Age of Speed”) held in Los Angeles in 2010. The director of the Igarashi Oral Implantology Center, Dr. Igarashi is certified as a supervising practitioner by the Japanese Academy of Clinical Periodontology and the Academy of Gnathlogy and Occlusion. He is a member of the Japanese Society of Oral Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI JAPAN). He also serves on the organizing committees of ICOI JAPAN, the Osseo-Integration Study Club of Japan, and the International Society of Osseointegration (ISO). The lecture “Current Stream in Corticotomy-Assisted Orthodontics: Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (AOO) vs. Speedy Surgical Orthodontics (SSO),” by Dr. Seong-Hun Kim, waspart of the 35th annual USC Periodontal and Implant Symposium (theme: “The Age of Speed”) held in Los Angeles in 2010. Dr. Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Catholic University of Korea, Uijongbu St. Mary’s Hospital. He is also a visiting assistant professor of orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and at the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Dr. Kim obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, at Seoul National University in Korea. He is currently the editor of clinical affairs for the “Korean Journal of Orthodontics” and serves on the editorial review board of the “American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics” (AJODO), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), and “Oral Care Report” (OCR). He is the author of five textbooks and more than 80 scientific articles.
